We now have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer with strong Citrix experience to become part of our winning team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Resolution of assigned Incidents/Requests on-site or remotely

  • Pro-actively identify, analyse and resolve problems to optimise systems and minimise risk, document work-arounds and implement changes as and when required

  • Understand and adhere to Release and Change Management policies and procedures for implementing change

  • Participate in Project activities, including the creation of detailed designs, as required

  • Compile Post Incident Review reports with comprehensive detail and in the time frame required

  • Ensure high levels of system availability, capacity, reliability, data integrity, security and performance are maintained

  • Provide capacity management plans and recommendations

  • Proactively perform required system monitoring, alert/event response, maintenance and patching activities

  • Ensure Server Infrastructure standards, architectural and design requirements are maintained eg, standard SOE and Group Policies

  • Maintain, upgrade and tailor the Server Management Toolsets

  • Timely and accurate documentation of work performed, to the standard required and using the systems, processes and/or methods specified. This includes system documentation, Incident/Request/Problem ticket updates, Asset and Configuration records and time reporting

  • Proactively identify technology improvements with comprehensive analysis, detailed solution design and follow through to completion of implementation

  • Proactive identify inefficient processes and procedures, propose and implement improvements, including creating/updating procedures and processes

  • Produce management or technical reports containing correct and relevant data on a regular or ad-hoc basis

  • Customer centric prompt and effective action when dealing with client requests, questions and concerns

  • When required, perform activities after hours and participate in the on-call roster

  • Proactively support and participate in service improvement initiatives

  • Provide technical leadership and advice to team members, other support groups and Management

Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to this role:

  • 5+ years Citrix support and troubleshooting experience

  • 5 + years Server support and troubleshooting, plus design and project management experience

  • 5 + years customer service in the area of technology support

  • Server Technology installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and support

  • Microsoft family of Operating Systems, particularly Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012

  • Provision of support to customer environments which include

  • VMWare ESX


  • MS Exchange



  • HP, DELL IBM and CISCO Hardware

  • High Level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to understand technical issues and clearly articulate solutions to clients

  • Time management skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • MCSE or MCITP or equivalent

  • ITIL Foundation certified
