About the Business

The CP Midrange team provides ongoing support services to the department of Defence for the centralised computing infrastructure.

About the role

A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for Midrange Wintel Engineers Level 1 & Level 2 (6 month contract) to provide technical support and maintenance for the Wintel Midrange support services by resolving incidents, work orders and change requests in the required timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Wintel Team lead, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Monitor systems in line with pre-defined operational controls, processes and requirements

  • Actively contribute to collaboration and communication within your team

  • Suggests and/or implements solutions to resolve problems and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Supports the coordination of the processing environment and software distribution, upgrades and maintenance.

  • Administer central and/or distributed computer systems

  • Be available for on call roster, cyclic maintenance, DR, high severity issue resolution periodically as part of the defined support model

  • Implement system changes as requested

  • Run and distribute defined system management reports

  • Prepare and distribute ad-hoc system management reports as requested

  • Support the Incident, Event, Problem and Change Management structure

  • Identify and escalate any identified need for improvement to the Team Leader

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role, you will be an experienced Wintel Technical Support Engineer specifically with exposure to hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.

Additionally, you will have the following:

  • A ‘can-do’ attitude to support the needs of a professional team

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies

  • Working knowledge of virtualised environments

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant Tertiary and related qualifications are strongly preferred
