NEC Australia Test Engineer in Australia
Full time contract role (6 months with potential to extend)
Verify & Validate ICT systems and components for a key NEC Federal Government account
Must have existing AGSVA Security Clearance (NV1 minimum)
Must be willing to work on a roster with occasional weekend work

About the role
An exciting Test Engineer role has arisen to support a key NEC Federal Government account. In this role, you will contribute to the review and execution of test artefacts for the verification and validation of ICT systems for a key Federal Government account.
In this key role, you will ensure adherence to the specification requirements verification matrix and identify methods of validation for systems and components. The role will support the inspection, analysis, demonstration and testing at the system or component level.
Reporting to the Verification & Validation Engineering Lead, you will have the following key responsibilities:
Execute on the Test strategy for the project
Liaise effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders as part of BAU and the project teams
Create and execute project related test plans
Work with multiple teams to ensure all relevant testing activities are completed
Document, track, report and escalate issues as appropriate
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Testing/QA professional preferably within the IT industry. You will be an effective communicator and team player able to identify issues and work with a variety of stakeholder groups.
Additionally, you will bring the following skills and experience:
High level of skill with the relevant technologies including Microsoft suites, Linux, Solaris, AIX, VMWare and other virtualization tools
Exposure in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support verification and validation.
Intermediate knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications.
Knowledge of wintel and *nix systems.
Strong analytical skills with attention to details
Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk
Strong problem-solving skills
ITIL v3 Foundations Certificate and relevant professional memberships are highly desirable
A degree and professional qualifications in IT/Business or a relevant discipline is strongly preferred
