Volvo Group Paint Engineer in Wacol, Australia

Volvo Group Australia is currently seeking an experienced Paint Engineer to join our Group Truck Operations organisation. About the role:

  • Develop, implement, verify and document parameter settings for all paint process

  • Implement product changes in tooling, equipment and information systems

  • Partner with Production Management to ensure assembly instructions are frequently updated and adhered to by Production team

  • Regularly quality check performance in applicable production area

  • Establish relationships with paint suppliers to ensure usage optimization, formulation compatibility, paint performance and quality issues

  • Ensure that paint processes are maintained and running effectively for vehicle production

  • Proactively identify & pursue opportunities to improve operations by reducing cost, reducing energy usage, improve quality, etc.

  • Instigate and undertake special project investigations as required.

About you:

  • Degree or Associate Diploma in Materials / Paint Technology

  • 2-3 years’ experience working with paint applications or production engineering environment

  • Good product knowledge of either the Mack or Volvo brands is highly preferred although not essential

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate and explain technical specifications

  • Good personal organisational and planning skills

  • Customer orientation and team working abilities

  • Sound computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
