About the Opportunity

The Manager for Transition and Delivery (Operations and Infrastructure) is responsible for the transition and delivery of initiatives and improvement process for Production Systems Operations Australia. You will ensure ongoing and accelerated improvement through process control whilst ensuring business readiness and the usability of services within the Operations Technology space. Furthermore, you will ensure that standardised processes and procedures are adhered to and embedded throughout technology to protect the live environment and maximise stability for BHP Billiton. Duties include:

  • Accountable for co-ordinating transition, initiatives and changes across Production Systems Operations Australia and the assets of Minerals Australia.

  • Manage value for the business by ensuring initiatives and changes are assessed and prioritised while ensuring business benefits and usability is assessed during any decisions.

  • Accountable for the management of change to ensure the effective embedment and by implementing standard BHP Billiton criteria processes and procedures.

  • Manages workloads based on urgency and technical availability ensuring high priority / urgent initiatives are implemented according to the agreed business priority.

  • Leads, coaches and mentors team members to ensure delivery against strategic plans and performance targets.

  • Manages the implementation of initiatives and changes to delivery innovation and productivity gains.

About you

You will be a proven leader who is excited by new technology and has a track record of working in a transition and delivery capacity. This is a strategic role that will require a manager who can motivate and lead people by displaying the appropriate behavior and cultural beliefs befit of BHP Billiton. Building relationships is natural to you where your experience of working in a globally dispersed virtual team will come to the fore. You will also have the ability to manage large numbers of inputs and effectively prioritise high value added/high risk issues for attention.

To be successful you will need to have a Technical Degree (STEM) which is mandatory for these roles.

  • At least 10 years relevant post-qualification experience (i.e. preferably in mining within an Operational Technology function)

  • Experience in managing a team of people to deliver against a business plan

  • Experience with performance management

  • Experience in driving continuous improvement and cost effectiveness initiatives

  • Experience in OT Change, Release and Configurations Management in large and complex mining environment

  • Experience with forecasting and resource planning tools

  • Exposure/experience in safety ideally in the Mining or the Resources Industry

  • Familiarity of ServiceNow (or familiarity with ITSM tools)
