About the Role

The Finance & Risk Compliance Consultant is accountable for delivering on the strategy of compliance and regulatory consulting in the region. The successful individual will be an experienced compliance consultant, capable of supporting the go-to-market strategy, building risk and compliance practice assets and capabilities, and assisting in delivering exceptional consulting services to our clients. The functional coverage of this consulting practice extends across financial services’ risk and regulatory frameworks, risk transformation, material new regulatory requirements, risk and regulatory remediation, optimising risk and regulation implementation and ongoing adherence and delivering the technology solutions required to enable insights through analytics. Our focus is on the largest banks and insurers in the Australian market.

This Consultant will be in a position to execute on Accenture’s compliance and regulatory offerings (strategy, management consulting, technology solutions, systems integration, and operations) in an integrated way that provides a compelling value proposition to financial services institutions today.

In addition to performing the role of exceptional delivery expert in the compliance and regulatory domain, this consultant will also support driving innovation for the business-identifying trends from changing client requirements and recognising requirements that current and emerging regulatory adherence creates.

Successful candidates for this position will be experienced in consulting services for Financial Services or have moved on to relevant consultant-level industry roles in Financial Services. The consultant must demonstrate skills in the following knowledge areas:

  • Compliance and regulatory knowledge within the financial services industry with a focus on the banking or insurance sector

  • Supporting the go-to market strategy of a consulting practice

  • Networks with Risk and Compliance staff of large banks and insurers in Australia

  • Delivering transformational large scale risk programs or remediations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 4 years of professional experience

  • 3 years Financial Services/Banking experience

  • 3 years’ experience in the Risk and Regulatory field with progressively increasing responsibilities

Preferred qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the sale and delivery of risk and regulatory consulting services

  • Experience in working at or with APRA, ASIC or AUSTRAC

  • Diverse background that includes working within different business models and markets.

  • Market development experience

  • Ability to examine issues from a broad perspective; considering impact beyond immediate scope.
