We are currently seeking a Graduate Geophysicist to join our established Australian marine survey operations.
Based in the Balcatta office you will report to theGeophysics Manager.
Roles And Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibility will include:
Compliance with QHSSE policies, standards and procedures;
Acquire, QC, process and interpret marine engineering Geophysics data to highest industry standards;
Install, verify and calibrate geophysics equipment on survey vessels
To document data acquisition parameters and maintain data QC logs
To interpret, analyse and report on data in an integrated manner in relation to other datasets
To draw conclusions from the data analysis and to make appropriate recommendations.
To keep abreast of industry developments and to make suggestions on how processes, systems and techniques can be improved.
To be considered for the role you will require the following:
Degree / Higher Degree level qualification in Geophysics, Geology or relevant Geoscience discipline;
Competence with principles of marine acoustics including side scan sonar, multibeam echo sounder, seismic reflection and refraction, marine magnetics and ground truthing techniques
Have a sound understanding of Australian marine sedimentology/geology
Hold (or able to complete) an OGUK offshore medical certificate
Hold (or able to complete) Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course;
Willingness to work offshore for periods of time;
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
Have an excellent command of written English
