Responsible for the sales and promotion of the Brisbane Marriott Hotel and its services through direct sales solicitation, Client servicing and account management, prospecting of new business. Strong focus on building and nurturing valuable business relationships.
Responsible for managing the relationship, saturation and penetration of Preferred Corporate Accounts of the Brisbane Marriott Hotel through sales activities and entertainment for all transient, group, extended stay and catering / conference business.
Research and maintain current business relationships and network for new business across all market segments.
Actively prospect for new revenue opportunities within required market segments as directed by the DOSM/ADOS.
In conjunction with the DOSM/ADOS, create a Sales & Marketing strategy to maximise account penetration utilising market statistics and hotel revenue management. Coordinate activities and follow up all relevant information with the Sales Centre.
Source new business via telemarketing, cold calling, newspapers, monitoring current affairs and business activity in the city, leads from Sales Centre, Reservations, Front Office, cluster hotels, lost business reports and networking of the relevant industries.
Secure and re-sign current accounts using appropriate sales techniques through effectively prospecting and qualifying each account, professional presentation, handling the tender process (including rate negotiation and contract signing.)
Establish an annual sales call pattern, based on productivity, of all assigned accounts, ensuring effective management of current and new clients.
Work with the DOSM/ADOS and Revenue Manager to increase sales to meet, or exceed, established goals and targets; focusing on increasing market share, increasing revenue per average room (REVPAR), increasing yield and increasing profitability.
Work with the Sales Centre, referring conference leads and working with the team in assisting with follow-up and rate negotiation when required.
Attend industry trade shows where applicable, including organization and participation.
Ensure Opera database is kept up-to-date, including information on; telemarketing contacts and sales trip reports (outlining follow-up and next action to be taken). Ensure hard copies are kept in relevant files, where applicable.
Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain, and increase, Brisbane Marriott Hotel’s corporate market share, reviewing accounts regularly and ensuring room night potential is maximised.
Work with National, International and Marriott Cluster Hotels and Worldwide Sales Office, ensuring all leads are passed on and actioned in a timely manner.
Responsible for achieving established targets for total sales and upselling, as agreed to (and documented) with DOSM.
Attend weekly Sales & Marketing meetings.
Assist with the annual Sales & Marketing plan.
Control expenditure within agreed budgetary guidelines and account for all expenditure as per Marriott Standard Operating Procedures.
Support all hotel/department training initiatives and actively participate at relevant training sessions.
Work with other departments, communicating and assisting where possible.
Observe and identify opposition hotels and Companies and other areas of interest to the Brisbane Marriott Hotel and report accordingly.
The hotel requires that you will follow established Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all of our associates.
Perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management.
