Raytheon Customer Support Engineer in Canberra, Australia

Industry leading employee benefits Flexible location in either Brisbane, Canberra or Sydney Long term defence contractor Raytheon Australia is contracted to provide engineering, maintenance and logistics services in support of the program managed by the SATCOM Systems Program Office. Support is provided from multiple facilities and locations around Australia including Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. As the Customer Support Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out a diverse range of technical tasks, within the Defence sustainment environment, which are expected to comply with the Engineering Management System (EMS). A critical part of this role will be to develop and review solutions that meet customer requirements within cost, schedule and quality constraints. Key Responsibilities Engaging with subcontractors on technical issues Technical information Development and refinement of the engineering process Design Development, Review and Approval Interaction with Technical Support Networks Defect investigations, maintenance-related investigations Engineering Change Proposals, Substitutions, Deviations Maintaining currency with relevant technologies, systems and methodologies (Self Development) Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution Participation in providing training to customers as required. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Degree in engineering majoring in telecommunications or electronics Professional development sufficient to satisfy the entry requirements for Chartered Professional Engineer in Engineers Australia Minimum 6 years of engineering experience with reasonably sized and complex systems Minimum of 6 years of experience in the development of engineering designs, and supporting modification activities, within the ADF Technical Airworthiness framework Broad telecommunications hardware and systems background Experience in dealing directly with customer representatives and subcontractors in resolving technical issues.
