Your Opportunity

We have an excitingopportunity for you to join our Malt technical team as Barley and Malt QualityCoordinator. This is a replacement position and has come into existence due tothe recent movement of the Malt business HO to Melbourne. Reporting to theRegional Technical Manager, you will be a key member of the technical solutionsteam and work closely with the other teams, understanding customer needs of rawmaterials to target the best quality barley from origins and suppliers. Therole will require you to work with theproduction teams to ensure barley contract management is aligned with qualityrequirements while also being responsible for management and maintenance oftechnical Bill of Materials in the ERP system. The role will provide effectivequality support for customers of APAC Malt business.

You will come from atechnical background with excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in the roleand develop positive working relationship with multiple stakeholders. Yourability to provide high quality / high level administration support will be keyto the success of the role.


Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Workingclosely with key stakeholders to ensure barley contract drawdown is aligned tothe quality requirements;

  • Monitoringand reporting crop activity throughout the year to provide information, pre andpost- harvest;

  • Drivingthe new season micro malting process with the Quality Assurance Manager;

  • Coordinatingnew malting barley customer trials;

  • Manage Bill of Materials (BOM’s) in SAP andensure processes and procedures support BOM accuracy through continuousimprovement initiatives;

  • Interface with customers, coordinate and handlecomplaints, in conjunction with the FSQR Specialist;

  • Developing training materials for specifictechnical expertise;

  • Contributetowards providing timely technical inputs to key stakeholders such ascustomers, suppliers and internal stakeholders in the region or globally;


All about you

Having come from a similar background, you will have:

  • Experiencein managing grain quality, processing and/or handling;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture / Agronomy / Food Science / Chemistry(preferably);

  • Excellentplanning and organisation skills;

  • Highcustomer service orientation; strong problem solving skills;

  • Proficiencyin material/inventory management;

  • Well-developed communication and analytical skills;

  • Strongattention to detail;

  • Abilityto work independently, be self-motivated and proactive;

  • Abilityto keep calm in challenging situations;

  • Goodknowledge of production processes and procedures;


  • Acquiredknowledge of the malting and brewing or barley industry;

  • Abilityto work with large databases and SAP;

  • Abilityto connect with people at various levels in the organisation;

  • Abilityto integrate and operate in a multi-cultural and diverse environment, inclusivemindset;

  • Highadaptability and capacity for change;
