About the opportunity
Our Water Resources & Engineering team provides specialist consulting services across a diverse range of water resources and water engineering applications and markets. Within the surface water team, our skills include: hydrologic and hydraulic assessment for linear transport infrastructure, urban development, dams and other developments and floodplain risk management, catchment and water resource modelling / assessments, storm water infrastructure design/management, water demand analysis and forecasting, urban water cycle management, soil and water management, water resources planning and policy, and integrated water resources planning.
An exciting opportunity exists within our Surface Water & Groundwater team for an experienced Flood Modeller. As an experienced Flood Modeller, you will be responsible for undertaking hydrological, hydraulic investigations on a range of high profile and interesting projects utilising the latest and leading edge technologies.
On a day to day basis this role will involve formulation of flood models and preparation of quality technical reports for a variety of flooding investigations. You will also conduct detailed analysis and reviews of available data including hydrological and hydraulic models. You will provide specialist advice to team members and clients and establish and maintain strong relationships with clients. The role offers opportunities to project manage flood studies and to lead flooding assessments for major infrastructure projects.
As a successful applicant, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent. Ideally you will be recognised as MIEAust or CPEng. We are looking for someone who is a high-performer with a high level of ambition to drive the growth of the team. You will have experience in GIS systems (preferably, MapInfo and ArcMap) and developing hydrological and hydraulic models including TUFLOW, XP-RAFTS and DRAINS. Exposure to HEC-RAS, MIKE, MUSIC, RORB, 12d and CAD are preferred but not essential.
