Audio/Video Videoconferencing (AV/VC) Event Support Technician


Astreya is looking for experienced Audio Video Event Technician to join our team to manage onsite event support. This is a unique opportunity to play a highly visible role in an exciting, industry-leading technology company. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to work with some of the most innovative technologies in the world and supporting events that have impact within the collaborative space. Your daily responsibilities will include serving as an event expert, working closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate all event logistics. You will utilize exceptional project management and technical skills to manage pre-event requests,support during events, and post-event follow-up, ensuring all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-quality event. You will also conduct a regular inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AV systems in various event spaces and take ownership of certifying the working order of all equipment.Traveling to our client’s various offices on occasion is required.


  • Lead role in client AV/VC enterprise events
  • Interact with client executive presenters before and during large audience presentations
  • Ability to anticipate AV/VC issues and be fully prepared when issues arise
  • Troubleshoot and quickly resolve AV/VC related issues, real-time, without interruption to the event
  • Assist with planning of large, often global, conferencing events
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams and internal users before and during events
  • Perform all necessary pre-event checks as required for the event and also consultation
  • Setup and configuration of AV equipment, including presentation/control systems, distributed audio, microphones, speakers and complex AV/VC systems
  • Communicate any foreseeable issues and risks to client Program Manager
  • Familiarity with state of the art AV/VC systems
  • Root Cause Analysis / post-mortem, lessons learned for future prevention
  • Participate in weekly AV/VC planning meetings to discuss upcoming client executive events


  • Must have excellent English language communication skills
  • 2+ years of executive interactions, in an AV setting
  • Ability to think and work independently, often under pressure, along with great teamwork skills
  • Expert wiring and cable-termination skills
  • Proven experience finding creative ways to solve unforeseeable issues
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Expert in understanding AV systems drawings and signal flow diagrams
  • Comfortable in going above and beyond what is expected or requested
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Analytical and advance problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to travel to support a distant event
  • Ability to work day, evening or weekend shifts
  • Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Required Education/Experience

  • Accredited degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in supporting AV Events in a corporate environment
  • Mastery of audio-visual field installation
  • Ability to fully commission and configure an AV System

Preferred Experience

  • CTS/CTS-I, NSCA, Cedia, Cisco, Polycom, Nexia, BiAmp, ClearOne, or Crestron Certification
  • Experience as a lead technician overseeing a crew
  • AV Conference room installation experience / certification

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, standing, stooping and bending for long or extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, or power tools
  • Ability to climb ladder or scaffolding
  • Ability to drive/operate a vehicle in a safe manner
