Join us as a Chief Engineer at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay located in Sydney’s leafy green Eastern Suburbs. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. Because, for this vital role, we’re looking for someone who will be responsible for the day to day operation of the hotel’s repair and maintenance function.
This is a key operational role that reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Hotel Management team to implement the maintenance, risk management, safety and compliance strategy. This is the senior Engineering position in a full-service 140 room hotel which includes multiple food or beverage outlets, meeting spaces and shared services.You will be responsible for managing the Engineering Department of the hotel to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and colleagues.
You'll assist in managing our building services and preventative maintenance. This includes energy management, implementing our safety/fire prevention program and on going room maintenance. You’ll monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance and capital planning. You will maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed. You will have excellent written and verbal communication, experience leading a team and a diverse range of skills gained from working in similar sized property. In addition you will have experience using asset and maintenance order systems.
Ideally, you will have qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering and solid experience in facilities management. You have a proven track record in leading a successful team with strong project management skills. You will also be a team player and be known for your pro-active approach and your ability to solve complex problems.
