Reed Exhibitions is the global leader in trade (B2B) and consumer (B2C) events and exhibitions, spanning a wide range of industries. In Australia, we deliver 35+ events a year across a diverse group of portfolios, which bring people together to engage, connect, transact and network.
The Industrial, Energy & Sustainability and Mining portfolios are spread across three teams and comprises of a range of events from the Renewable and Clean Energy, Manufacturing, Mining, Waste and Water markets.
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Content Manager to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) . The Content Manager is responsible for the overall implementation and management of selected conferences for the Industrial and Mining portfolio.
You will be an experienced, commercial and well informed conference practitioner with a keen interest in producing conferences in the industrial, energy and mining sectors. You will be responsible for the development of all conferencing attributed to all the events that fall within the these portfolios, including All-Energy Australia, Waste Expo Australia’s Waste Summit, Queensland Mining and Engineering Expo and National Manufacturing Week.
This role requires strong copywriting skills to curate the conference content to ensure all conferences are well presented and are a must attend event in the industry.In addition, the Content Manager will be expected to work closely with the Sales and Marketing Managers to manage key relationships as they relate to the content and deliver regular updates on speakers, sessions and highlights that will help drive further sales and boost event promotion.
Approximately June 2018 – January 2019
Key Responsibilities include:
Researching, developing, proposing, organising, andmanaging the conference content in collaboration with the Event Director andensure the conference is delivered according to the critical path
Researching conference topics and analyse thepotential for developing ideas into commercially viable conference tracks andcontent
To communicate with key industry figures and opinionleaders to determine the validity of proposed topics, sub-themes, timing andlocation
To highlight possible sponsorsand exhibitors to this event and closely work with the Sales Manager inmanaging the relationships as related to the content
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Tertiary education qualifications preferably with afocus in journalism, business or research
A minimum of 5 years’ experience producing commercialB2B conferences
Previousexperience in producing energy/mining/sustainability/infrastructure conferencesis highly regarded
Able to generate new ideas and spot trends andopportunities
Ability to liaise with all levels of customers and beproactive and focused in your approach
Ability to demonstrate excellent research andanalytical skills with a commercial focus
Proven track record in delivering projects on time andworking under pressure
Ability to multi-task on many different projects indifferent development phases
Excellent oral and written communication skills andstrong copywriting ability
Abilityto communicate and be effective with potential speakers and attendees at alllevels
