Job Overview

The Solution Optimization expert works directly with SAP Ariba customers to identify solution-based opportunities and an executable strategy to advance their desired business outcomes. The Solution Optimization expert works closely with SAP Ariba account management to support regional strategic goals. The SO resource is not dedicated to a single set of customers but rather works to optimize solution-supported value across the region. This person becomes part of a global and dynamic team of solution experts who not only help customers but also actively support one another and serve as recognized experts within the organization.

The Solution Optimization expert supports overall SAP Ariba shared goals of driving customer value, securing renewals, and increasing NPS, by:

  • Leading solution-focused workshops with customers’ key stakeholders to review their current solution usage, configurations, integrations, and business processes

  • Identifying solution-based opportunities that will further the customers’ desired business outcomes

  • Developing customer-specific recommendations and strategies to optimize their solution usage and business processes

  • Creating solution adoption playbooks for new and key functionality that can be leveraged by account managers, consulting, customers, and partners to support knowledge scale

  • Sharing solution functionality and innovation knowledge and insights with colleagues and customers at events such as Customer Success Days, Summits, and SAP Ariba LIVE

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive solution-based assessments via in-depth reviews of a given customer’s procurement processes, business objectives, and operating model

  • Deliver high-impact demonstrations to existing customers to illustrate how solutions can be tailored to maximize ROI and reduce costs

  • Architect creative and flexible solution strategies to drive process improvements, increased adoption, and solution expansion to maximize customer value and ROI from their SAP Ariba solutions

  • Positively influence both mid-level managers and C-level executives on a strategic vision for solution optimization

  • Develop solution, new innovation, process, and industry-relevant expertise

  • Provide the customer account team with expert support to advance their success plans

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Solution Optimization team by sharing knowledge, best practices, process improvements, and case studies of completed engagements

  • Provide solution management and engineering teams with product recommendations - Actively collaborate with cross-departmental SAP Ariba teams (account management, sales, consulting, delivery, support, product, and engineering teams)

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of SAP Ariba on-demand solutions and network products

  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus

  • 3 years of professional work experience (prefer procurement, sourcing, or sales)

  • 5 years customer-facing or project management leader experience

  • Ability to quickly foster trust-based relationships at all levels with customers

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
