Purpose of Job:

Besides providing top-quality consulting to customers and partners during the post sales phase of projects with hybris software and sometimes during the pre sales phase, the principal consultant is the senior team lead for the regional consulting team and provides technical guidance and expertise to all the senior and technical consultants in the region. The principal consultant also works closely with the regional services director and Delivery management to jointly define the technical direction for the team – resulting that the role has a strong management component in it. Translating strategy in tactics and operation in the technical field will depend highly on you. Part of the management component is also being an evangelist in the market for SAP Hybris and digital transformation with regards to customer engagement.

Typically the person in this role is working closely with colleagues from various departments, such as business, product management, marketing and IT, as well as project managers and developers. A principal consultant must be able to interact with personnel from several departments form the partner and the customer, including but not limited to, ICT and business personnel. An ability to consult in any phase of the post sales project as well as dealing with escalations is necessary. The position requires regular travel

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Act as a team lead for the regional consulting team. This is not a line management position but requires regular contact with the consultants in a mentoring and coaching capacity.

  • Be the go to person in the region for any technical issues, no matter how complex they are.

  • Work with Customers, end users and development partners to define and assess application and technical requirements and understand the current state of technology to define opportunities that create business value.

  • Work with architects, developers, project managers and business personnel to define the application and technical architecture structure to ensure that the products and components work together to meet the objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements.

  • Evangelize Hybris and digital transformation by acting as a thought leader in our region (Social media, events, etc)

  • Support local leadership as a management member of your subregion with heavy focus on the technical direction of the team and support the impact of the strategy on the team from this technical perspective.

  • Fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the technical environments.

  • Translate business requirements into a functional and technical implementation.

  • Work with the support team to determine how the applications are supported in production, including system performance and monitoring.

  • Provide in depth knowledge of hybris platform and products.

  • Support successful project implementation phase on business, conceptual, programming level.

  • Manage customer requirements and expectations.

  • Design and conduct workshops with ICT and business people.

  • Initiate and execute reviews.

Qualificatio n/Professional Experience:

  • Previous team lead or line management experience is a plus.

  • University degree in computer science, comparable education or job experience

  • Broad and deep technical experience of implementing and supporting large, complex multi domain, multisite server-based systems/networks, ideally within an external customer facing and SLA- driven environment.

  • Excellent knowledge in OO software architecture/design.

  • At least 5 years of experience with Java/J2EE.

  • Experience in front end technologies, UML and framework technologies

  • Must be used to working to standards and have a structured approach to design.

  • Previous customer facing experience, preferably working with technical personnel and business users

  • Highly developed problem solving skills, tenacity, drive, proactive, creativity, sound planning and organizational abilities, strong improvement focus, ability to work in a fast-evolving and fast paced environment.

  • Knowledge and experience of major ERP and CRM systems is a plus.

  • eCommerce / Multichannel commerce experience is a plus.
