Troon Golf Restaurant Manager in Australia


The Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club, located on beautiful Bribie Island only 50 minutes from Brisbane, is seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to assist in driving our expanding food operation. Excellent working conditions within a well established business set in an idyllic location.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to excel within a busy environment. You will possess proven history of leadership, be experienced in all facets of customer service and bring a genuine passion for hospitality whilst be able to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations. You will be a natural leader and possess the ability to help us grow our business and to foster and develop our team.

Key Responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager:

  • Organizes and conducts pre-shift meetings to review specials, menu changes, house counts, etc.

  • Ensures that the restaurant and restaurant facilities are kept clean, well stocked and organized. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the restaurant and schedules needed maintenance and repair.

  • Circulates throughout the restaurant facilities and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.

  • Greets guests at tables to ensure complete customer satisfaction attention to guest needs.

  • Ensures established cash handling procedures are utilized to accurately charge customers.

  • Creates revenue forecasts and reports. Monitors restaurant budget.

  • Oversees daily restaurant activities to include: serving tables, bussing tables, seating guests, room service and general clerical/cashier duties.

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Food and Beverage Supervisor, Host, Server, Cashier.

  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs and tests for comprehension.

  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Minimum Qualifications for the Restaurant Manager:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in a previous management role

Other Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for the food, hospitality and events industry and for providing exceptional customer service

  • Strong operational capabilities, to think clearly, demonstrate initiative whilst engaging and leading the team in a very hands on capacity

  • Proven experience in developing and training a team, providing coaching and guidance where needed

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills with proven experience resolving conflict

  • A keen eye for detail with excellent time management skills

  • Strong wine knowledge and bar experience (cocktail experience advantageous)

  • Impeccable presentation, hygiene and grooming standards

  • Flexible availability over a 7-day roster

  • Appropriate hospitality qualifications highly regarded

  • An understanding of financials and labour costs
