The risk and compliance team are at the forefront of our global Paypal credit expansion - both domestically and abroad, and must ensure that Paypal adopts, implements and maintains innovative and appropriate processes and controls.
You will be responsible for the culture of compliance within Credit. You will take a consultative approach and work closely with every business division to implement and manage an innovative and practical, yet thorough, compliance programme.
You will work collaboratively with our GM, Head of Legal and internal senior stakeholders.
Some of the main elements of the role will involve:
Surveying and interpreting our regulatory, compliance and broader credit risk landscape.
Being the ultimate point of escalation for credit risk and compliance issues.
Working with senior stakeholders across the business to maintain a world-class compliance framework, monitoring and training programme.
Constantly driving for improvement in efficiency and risk management.
Championing and driving adoption of industry standard certifications, where appropriate.
Working with the credit and internal control partner teams to conduct and maintain risk assessments.
Working with the credit teams to review strategies to ensure these align with regulatory obligations
Ensuring that all AU Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Security policies and standards are up to date
Advising and providing governance on any incidents, issues or process breakdowns.
Providing regulatory input to any customer complaints
Working to identify any gaps in controls and drive the overall Compliance and Risk Management Program.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for a senior risk and compliance professional with experience in a regulated financial institution, or other corporate, and who is passionate about moving to a fast-paced global payments company. You will be driven and able to work independently, while taking a consultative approach in an area that can be seen as inhibitive to business.
You may be a mid-level lawyer looking for an exciting new challenge, or an experienced Risk and Compliance professional, looking to shape the credit compliance function at a growing company.
We’d love to hear from you if:
You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a risk and compliance team at a regulated company or corporate.
You have experience in drafting, implementing and rolling out compliance plans, frameworks and policies across a company or department.
Your risk radar is finely tuned.
Your communication skills are first class, and you are able to distil complex and cumbersome regulation into understandable English.
You are easy to work with, and want to work in a fun, global company.
Bonus points if:
You’ve helped to establish, or have lead a compliance function framework establishment.
You have knowledge of domestic regulatory requirements within the credit environment.
You have experience working with product teams and supporting product launches from a .risk and compliance perspective.
You have experience of an international risk and compliance programme.
This role would ideally suit someone with experience in a large risk and compliance team, who is confident working autonomously and reporting to international line managers.
